4 When you have signed up as a member and logged in, it is time for you to start building your personal profile! You simply have to follow the steps that you will be presented, when you access your profile. Check out the following picture, it shows you how to access your profile, and how to start building your profile.

20 The next step is to begin creating your profile. Not all of the steps are mandatory, but the following under the category 'Basic profile' are required before you can publish your profile and start using the features and functions of EBRAINS Community Space:

26 If you do not want to fill out the rest of the profile you can press '**Publish to EBRAINS**' and start using the features and functions! You can always access your profile at a later time and fill in the remaining information or edit your profile.

32 1. **Where are you based?** If you choose to fill in a location you will be visible on the map that you can access through 'Map' in the navigation bar. We recommend that you type in your company or organization address.
33 1. **Headline **Tell other members what you are currently working on, your professional title, your academic title, or perhaps if you are looking for a new project or job.
34 1. **Company name** Show other members which company or organization you are affiliated with.
35 1. **Date of birth** If you will share your date of birth, the management team will only use it for statistics and the development of the EBRAINS Community Space.
