1 The following is a step by step guide to set up your accounts in HBP/EBRAINS.

3 === __Your two user accounts__ ===

5 We are in the process of migrating from Collaboratory 1 to Collaboratory 2 over the coming months. For the time being, each new user automatically gets an account in both Collaboratory 1 and 2 in order to have access to content and services from both.

7 Users that only have a Collaboratory 1 account should start by changing the principal email address of that account to their institutional email address (see point 2 under "//Identify via your institutional email address//" below), and should then register for their Collaboratory 2 account with the same institutional email address. If you do not have an institutional email address, please contact [[support@ebrains.eu>>path:mailto:support@ebrains.eu]].

9 1. Please make sure you have an EBRAINS (Collaboratory 2) account. This allows you to login to the Collaboratory 2 and several other EBRAINS services.

12 1. Please make sure that you have a Collaboratory 1 account. This allows you to login to the Collaboratory 1 and several other HBP services. The registration for a Collaboratory 2 account automatically checks that you have or that you get a Collaboratory 1 account with the same email address.

16 === __Identify via your institutional email address__ ===

18 The EBRAINS Access Policy requires that your accounts be linked to your institutional email address (e.g. not a gmail account). Additionally, if you work at an institution that is part of the HBP Consortium, please make sure that the domain name of that email address explicitly identifies the institution you represent in the Consortium.

20 1. To check the email address linked to your EBRAINS account:

33 === __Your SGA3 accreditation__ ===

35 Your SGA3 accreditation identifies which SGA3 Tasks you participate in.

37 SGA3 accreditation is only available to users who work at one of the institutions in the HBP Consortium. This explicitly excludes any subcontracting done to companies that are not part of the Consortium.

39 If you’re not in the HBP Consortium, you can still participate in the HBP & EBRAINS development. To access confidential information of the Consortium, you will need to request permission by writing to the information owner. You might also need to request access to specific resources or services.

41 1. Please make sure you are a member of the Units corresponding to each SGA3 Task you participate in. This also allows users to give you permissions along with everyone else working in the same Task in just a few clicks.

44 11. Under the Units title, you should have one Unit corresponding to each of the SGA3 Tasks you are participating in.

51 111. Wait for the Task leader or the WP manager to accept your request. You will be notified by email.

56 Part of the HBP project is funded by the EC. Users of HBP / EBRAINS are invited to share some information about themselves for statistical purposes or also with the HBP / EBRAINS community. No field is mandatory. Providing your gender will help us and the EC monitor gender equality. Providing your nationality will us and the EC monitor fair access to users across Europe. You choose what information you want to make available other users of the community. You can edit it at any time.

58 1. Please make sure you have saved your User Profile form at least once, even if you have not filled in any fields. This identifies that you have at least visited the page.

60 111. Read the form, fill the fields you choose, and click SAVE button at the bottom. Click SAVE at least once even if you have not filled any field.
61 11. If you are not an SGA3 accredited user yet but you should be, please wait until you get the accreditation and see point 1.1 just above.
